Equilibrium Consulting Joins the IT Channel at GTIA ChannelCon 2026

Pete Busam represented Equilibrium Consulting at GTIA ChannelCon 2026 in San Diego, connecting with MSPs, technology vendors, and channel leaders while giving back to the community as a Genius Café coach.

Equilibrium Consulting was proud to be part of GTIA ChannelCon 2026, held August 3–5 in San Diego, California.

ChannelCon brought together MSPs, IT service providers, technology vendors, distributors, consultants, and other IT channel members for three days of education, conversations, networking, and collaboration.

For Equilibrium Consulting founder Pete Busam, ChannelCon has always been about more than attending another industry event. It is an opportunity to listen to what MSPs are experiencing, exchange ideas with peers, strengthen relationships across the channel, and give something back to the community.

Giving Back at the Genius Café

During ChannelCon, Pete participated as a Genius Café coach, meeting with attendees for one-on-one conversations around marketing, positioning, growth, sales enablement, and the changing way prospective customers research and evaluate technology providers.

Those conversations reinforced something we see every day working with MSPs: technology may be changing rapidly, but sustainable growth still depends on understanding your customer, communicating your value clearly, building trust, and showing up consistently where buyers are looking for answers.

AI is changing how that happens.

Search is changing.

Buyer behavior is changing.

And MSP marketing needs to evolve with it.

AI, Cybersecurity and the Changing IT Channel

Many conversations at ChannelCon 2026 centered on issues already reshaping the MSP market, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, operational maturity, profitability, service differentiation, and AI’s growing role in how businesses discover and evaluate potential technology partners.

These aren’t simply technology conversations.

They affect how MSPs position themselves, communicate expertise, demonstrate authority, and ultimately grow.

That is also why Equilibrium Consulting continues to invest heavily in helping MSPs understand the intersection between traditional digital marketing, SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), AI visibility, content, marketing technology, and sales enablement.

The Value of the Channel Community

Some of the most valuable moments at ChannelCon don’t necessarily happen on a stage.

They happen in the hallways, over coffee, at the Genius Café, during meals, and in conversations between people willing to share what is working and sometimes what isn’t.

Those relationships and conversations help make the IT channel different from many other industries.

We came home from San Diego with new ideas, new relationships, renewed connections with longtime friends and partners, and plenty to think about as the MSP market continues to evolve.

Most importantly, we came home with an even clearer understanding of the challenges MSPs are trying to solve — and where Equilibrium can continue helping.

Thank you to GTIA, the ChannelCon team, everyone who stopped by the Genius Café, and everyone who took the time to connect with Pete during the week.

We look forward to continuing those conversations throughout the year.
